GRETA GARBO, the motion pictures most glamorous star of the day was born in Stockholm, Sweden, September 18, 1905. Her real name is Greta Gustafsson. Her father died when she was 14, and she went to work in a department store, selling hats. After a little experience in foreign films, she came to Hollywood in 1925, with Mauritz Stiller, her discoverer and director. Within a year she was famous in exotic roles. Garbo is 5 Feet, 6 inches tall and weighs 125 pounds. She has light golden-brown hair and blue eyes.
